• The textbook begins with four Diagnostic Tests -- for Basic Algebra, Analytic Geometry, Functions, and Trigonometry (with answers).
• Chapter 2:
• Material from the former two sections 2.6 and 2.7 have been combined into a single compact section 2.6 "Derivatives and Rates of Change."
• Example 2.3.10 on Squeeze theorem (sandwich rule) has been streamlined.
• Chapter 3:
• The section 3.8 "Rates of Change in the Natural and Social Sciences" now appears later in Chapter 3 in order to incorporate more differentiation rules.
• Material on inverse trigonometric functions has been consolidated in a single new section 3.6 "Inverse Trigonometric Functions and Their Derivatives".
• Chapter 4: Two former sections 4.6 "Optimization Problems" and 4.7 "Applications to Business and Economics" have been merged into a single section, with a more concise discussion of optimization problems in business and economics.
